Glossary
The words, and — more usefully — the four mechanics that make this game's published numbers mean less than they look like they mean.
Mechanics that change what a number means
- Anchor
- What a number is measured against. A duel point value is anchored to base, before your research multiplies it; a skill percentage is anchored to a specific skill level. A number without its anchor is not a fact, which is the reason this site exists.
- Skill level cap
- The /N in a skill line like
Lv.25/25is your current cap, not the skill’s ceiling — the same panel reads “Promote heroes to increase their skill level cap”. We have observed caps of 20, 25 and 30 on different heroes at once, so a guide quoting “the level 30 value” is quoting a number many players cannot reach yet. This corrects an earlier version of this page, which said skills simply run 1 to 30. - Base value
- A duel point value before your Alliance Duel research multiplies it. Every point figure published anywhere in this niche, ours included, is a base value — we are simply the ones saying so.
- Board
- A scoreboard. The same action can be worth different points depending on which board it is being scored on, which is why one number per action is not enough. We hold 30 actions that differ across boards.
- Rarity upgrade
- A hero can be raised from one rarity to the next — SSR to UR, for instance. This means a published 'rarity' is a moment in time rather than a property, and it is why two guides can both be right and still disagree.
- Sanctuary gate
- Most buildings will not begin an upgrade until the Sanctuary has reached a given level. It is the constraint that orders the whole early game.
- Confidence tier
- How well a number on this site is confirmed: read off the game, corroborated by two independent sources, single-sourced, or unverified — the last meaning the source itself will not stand behind it. Shown on every figure.
