Make the bot do what your alliance needs
LAPro is not finished and is not meant to be. It answers what we have data for; the things it does not do yet are mostly things nobody has asked for. Asking is the whole mechanism.
Ask in Discord
Anyone can. Say what you want it to answer and what you would type to get it. You do not need to be an admin, and you do not need to have the bot installed — this is also where corrections get filed.
Join Last Asylum ProOr ask from your own server
If the bot is already in your alliance, an admin can run /request without leaving the channel. It lands in the same queue. /requests shows what your server has already asked for.
What you can already change
7 settings, per server, with /config. An admin sets them once and every answer in that server follows. Run /config with no arguments to see the current values, and /reset to put everything back.
warn shows unconfirmed answers with a warning · hide withholds them entirely · show displays them with no warning Default: warn.
whether every reply footers with its source, date and confidence Default: true.
shorter replies — drops the explanatory paragraphs, keeps the numbers Default: false.
whether answers are private to whoever asked, instead of visible to the channel Default: false.
whether replies say what we do NOT know about the thing you asked Default: true.
whether replies link out to the site — some servers do not allow bot links Default: true.
how many near-matches to list when your wording is close but not exact (1–5) Default: 3.
What we will build, and what we will not
Yes
- Any lookup over data we already hold, or can source and check.
- Different shapes for the same answer — shorter, sorted differently, filtered to your situation.
- Things that save an argument: who can do what, which day pays, what it costs.
- Corrections. Always, and fastest of all — a screenshot of your own screen outranks every source we hold.
No
- Anything that plays the game for you. Auto-farming, macros, scavenge automation. Several tools in this space do that; we are not one of them and will not become one.
- Anything needing to read your messages. The bot ships with
permissions=0and that is not a starting position we intend to move from. - Numbers we cannot source. If we cannot say where a figure came from, we would rather answer “we do not know” — which
/gapsalready does on purpose.
Why ask us rather than a guide site
Because you can. Every other reference for this game is a publication: someone types the numbers, and if one is wrong there is nowhere to put that. Ours sits in the server where the argument is happening, and /correct ends it with a screenshot. That is not a nicer way of doing the same thing — it is the difference between a page and a process.
Start with /gaps. It lists what the bot does not know, which is a more honest introduction than a feature list and is usually where the good requests come from.
