Pick a rank or an office. Every one of the 50 alliance permissions is then marked for whether that person holds it. This is not a matter of opinion, which is what makes it worth looking up rather than arguing about.
Ranks are capped, offices are appointed
There are 5 ranks and 4 offices, and they are different things: a rank is a level in the alliance, an office is a job someone is given. A member can hold both, and the permissions add up. The full map lists every permission with its source, and the leader's guide covers what to do with them.
/alliance in the bot answers the same question in the server where the argument is actually happening.
